It's That Time Again!

The past few weeks have been spent prepping for the October shows. I'll be on the road for the majority of the month and will be in Ohio for Quilting With Machines, in Portland for Machine Quilters Exposition West, and Houston for International Quilt Festival. Because I'll be gone for such a good chunk of time, I'm trying to get everything done and organized so that I can go into the month feeling organized and prepared instead of psycho and frantic. Like I usually am. But I digress.

In addition to prepping 86 yards of muslin for the Houston classes (anybody wanna come over and help me iron? please? would it help if I groveled?) I need to write my column for the March issue of Machine Quilting Unlimited, which is due in November. People always think it's so weird how we work months and months ahead of ourselves with the magazine, but that's how it is in the publishing world. Mags are typically done 5-6 months ahead of time, so you're constantly doing Christmas stuff in June, spring show stuff in the fall, etc. I've gotten used to people coming up to me and saying "Oh! I loved your article in this month's issue!" and then I have to stand there desperately trying to remember what I wrote 6 months ago for this issue.

Anyway.

What do you want me to write about for the March issue? Do you have any topics you'd like to see covered? Any questions about techniques? A question you want answered? I'd love to hear about what you'd like to hear about!

And Then This Happened...

I have been so good for the past week and a half.

Articles have been written and submitted (BEFORE THE DEADLINE PASSED! OMG, it's a miracle.)

Quilts have been quilted.

The house has been cleaned and supplies have been purchased. (a family reunion at our house this coming Sunday with 40-50 people expected. Yikes.)

Supplies for my classes in Houston have been ordered and are on their way to me even as we speak.

A totally way cool new template that I've been thinking about and mulling over in my head for two years and which makes *such* a pretty design has been drawn up and is ready to be made into a prototype for testing. (thanks, Lisa Calle!)

I've made up a rough outline for my next radio interview. (Sept 19th on AllPeopleQuilt Radio with Pat Sloan!)

In short, I was being a model citizen. Until I found this.

This is nothing but a Very Bad Idea. A time sucking black hole. A terrible influence, from which there is no escape.
